Still No AFTER Picture. This Sucks.

Nutrisystem sucks.

I'm not even talking about the bad tasting food anymore.  Because honestly?  I'd eat dog food if it helped me lose 25 pounds in two months.

Nutrisystem sucks because each and every time I go off the res and eat something REAL (that isn't a fruit, vegetable, or hard boiled egg) my weight shoots right back up.  One day off the diet?  I'm 3-4 pounds heavier the next morning.

I was down a total of 17 pounds, and now, after one stressful week (starting work, starting daycare, shipping out over 25 Ebay packages) I gained back NINE POUNDS.  Nine-freaking-pounds!  I didn't gain that much in one week when I was pregnant!

I'm not happy.  Obviously.

I'm back to eating the food and following the plan (2 months worth of food are STILL piled up in my dining room--what would you do?) but the magic is gone.  I don't know why my body clings to this weight.  Is it the Lexipro?  Is it stress?  Is it hormones?  Does God just want me to be fat?

Blech.  I loathe the Failed Diet self-hatred phase.

I feel for you.. I seriously know what you're going through. I'm eating VERY healthy and can't seem to drop 10lbs. That's all I'm asking is to be in the next bracket over on the scale. For some reason, my body is fighting it. I would like to lost 20, but I figured I'd start with an easy 10. March of last year, I dropped 25 pounds in 1 month by eating this exact same way. Its all changed after pregnancy.

All we can tell ourselves is that our bodies just did an amazing thing and its gonna take awhile.
Bullshit.

OK...I can help you on this. I have been cursed with gestational diabetes and have been put on a diet. Jaci...I swear this is a great diet and you do not starve. I put a post up of an example of what I eat in a day...I have more examples if you want them, but go look at it and get some ideas.

In my 3rd trimester I lost 3 pounds and it was healthy weight loss...I have HORRIBLE eating habits and need to shape up! I'm on my way to develop diabetes later in life if I don't change my ways.

I feel you on the weight. After the birth of my second child....I think the weight likes me and refuses to leave. When I was on Lexapro...I gained weight and couldn't get it off. When I got off it...it went down. But my best-friend was on Lexapro and it didn't effect her weight at all...it's a toss up

that'sprobably why in the long wrong a healthy diet of fruits/vegetables/fiber and protein is the only good way to watch what you eat and lose weight. excercise helps too.

Have you tried weight watchers, I attend my meeting every Saturday, and with that I have lost 80 pounds and have kept it off for over 3 years.

It's the only thing that has worked for me.

I've had a fiend who had the same issues you are with the eating really well and not getting off the diet and then eating real food and her weight would go up in days time, it makes me wonder just what they put in that food for people to do that???? Hmm....

Seems to me you should ditch the Nutrisystem and plan healthy meals - watching the portion size. Because even if you do lose the weight and reach your goal - it's gonna bounce right back.

9 pounds in a week has, HAS to equal a good amount of water weight. There is just no way that you managed to consume and extra 31,500+ calories in a week (yes I did the math). I agree with Gigi - ditch nutrisystem, and loose weight the old fashioned way - smaller portions, lots of fruits/veggies, a bit of exercise...it may come off slowly, but it will come off. And won't taste like astronaut food.

This is one of the reasons that I joined Weight Watchers, because it teaches me how to eat to lose or maintain weight and be healthy. ANY diet that modifies your food so much is great while you're on it. But as soon as you go off, the weight can come back. It totally sucks. I also like that on Weight Watchers I can still eat pizza and dessert sometimes, because every other diet I've ever been on? I've totally cheated. I just started again on Wed and it's hard, but I feel hopeful.

I tried so many calorie restricting diets over the years and really they all generally work while you are on them and then as soon as you stop- wham, the weight jumps back on.
I couldn't understand it as just a little diet control would have me losing the pounds instantly in my twenties but now in my thirties (and after two babies) there was no such luck.
Anyone sports or gym nut will tell you- its a simple equation, energy in, energy out. If you're not exercising and burning calories, then nothing is going to work long term. So very very sad, but true.
As much as it killed me the only thing left to do was join a gym. *gasp*, I know. Me, hater of all things requiring sweatiness. But after just two weeks with the trainer, it was MELTING off me. Its been 4months now and I am fitter and slimmer than I was before I even had children!
Now I can still have my crap food occasionally and I just burn it off in the gym. Its the best of both worlds, sometimes have my junk and still looking smoking in my jeans!
P.S I only do the absolute minimum as well- 2 to 3 group sessions, and 1 pilates session. That's it. And I've been known to go home afterwards and have choc cookie or two afterwards with no evil effects. :)

It could be the Lexipro. I have never had a weight problem until I went on Paxil and gained almost 20 pounds. I'm off that and on something else now, and have lost most of the weight. I love me my brain pills, but most of them do cause weight gain...

Hi Jaci. I ended up here quite randomly, but enjoyed my visit. :) First of all, I love the hilarious title of your blog. I could totally use that! ha!

I'm sorry you gained weight back. Bummer! Hang in there!

So nice to meet you!
